This is my story.
In the summer of 2005, my baby sister passed on. She was only 32 years old. Her time here was short, turbulent and tinged with violence. Yet when I look back, I know that she was one of my greatest teachers.
While she was here, she taught me that love doesn’t mean control, that there will always be situations in life over which I won’t have any control, and that I can relax about it.
I loved her with an unconditional love. I think she taught many how to love her with an unconditional love.
She was beautiful, smart, and charismatic. She had seen the sordid underside of life, experienced things that I can’t even dream of, yet through it all she kept within her a core of love, the essence of who she really was.
When she passed on, she gave me an incredibly powerful, powerful gift. Even in the depths of grief, I discovered that I had no doubts that while she was physically gone, her spirit and her essence were as strong as ever. I could go outside onto my back deck, and feel her in the wind.
I still miss her, but I know that what I’m missing is her physical presence, the chance to hold her in my arms one more time, to sit and have a coffee and lots of laughs.
She loved to laugh.
But when I close my eyes in the dark of night, or sit outside on a cold autumn night, looking up at the stars, I know she still IS. I can feel her around me.
About two or three years before my sister’s transition, I had bought a book called Ask, and It Is Given, by Abraham-Hicks. While the processes in the second half of the book had called to me, the spiritual aspects of the book proved to be an obstacle to my logical mind.
But after my sister passed on, it was like this obstacle evaporated. That fall, I re-read the book, and this time, I truly got it. I got both the materially rewarding aspects of the law of attraction, and I got the spiritual foundations of it as well.
Since then my life has changed so much. Up until then, I was a stressed-out business owner, trying to find a way of making an online living so that I could leave behind the chaotic, though extremely lucrative, offline business I was running.
And now? I still own the offline business, but it’s far less stressful these days even though I pull in the same income. I also run a thriving online business. I’m also a professional blogger. And last month, I started writing my first book.
The money flows in.
I now have an assistant who helps me with both my online and offline business. Because of her, this past Christmas was relaxing, and there was none of the stress I had always felt during previous Christmases - even though the winter months are the busiest months for my offline business.
My husband’s business has been booming, and he’s also beginning a new practice in EFT counselling, something he’s very passionate about. I have three wonderful children, two of whom are teenagers, and remarkably, all is well in our household.
My world is filled with potential, opportunity, and loads and loads of love.
My intention in blogging here is to share with you the things that I have learned, and the things that I continue to learn every day about the law of attraction, deliberate creation and manifesting your desires.
Abraham-Hicks likes to tell us, “Life is supposed to be fun!”
And so it is.
