One of the most helpful approaches when you’re first learning about the law of attraction is the 30-day approach.
When you first watch a movie like the Secret, you see so many possibilities in front of you. Most people probably also wonder a bit about all of it. Does this actually work? Does feeling good really set into motion your journey to the manifestation of your desires?
Whether you eagerly embrace the concept of the law of attraction, or approach it hopefully but with some skepticism, the 30-day approach will help you establish new habits of thought.
And that’s the word to remember. Habit.
You might be a person who tends to get worried, or stressed. Or maybe you have had some bad experiences and you find yourself talking about them a lot. Perhaps you react negatively to certain things. Or most things. Or only a few things.
The direction of your thought, and your feelings, is due to habit. Most of us have also been taught a lot of negative beliefs, from the time we were children. Remember, we weren’t born thinking these thoughts, feeling these feelings, carrying these beliefs.
It takes between 20 to 30 days to establish a new habit. And this applies as well to learning to live with an awareness of the law of attraction.
You’ve been programmed to proceed down certain neural pathways - these are our existing habits. So, in order to establish new habits, you have to form new neural pathways, and consistently use them over a period of time.
Whether you’ve decided you’re going to practice a daily gratitude session, or track your negative and positive thoughts and feelings, or use some other process to more consciously apply the law of attraction to your life, give it 30 days.
And relax. Think about how many years you’ve had to deeply entrench your current habits of thought. Don’t beat yourself up for slipping up. First, being down on yourself isn’t helpful. And second, because law of attraction is always at work.
With time, and consistency, you’ll find that these new habits will become second nature to you.

First, I must say this… (and not only because I am one of your best friends) I love this blog! I am so glad you have found your “voice” for it.
As you know these are many of the very things that I have been working on. I had a habit of being negative so to speak. I always thought of it as “protecting” myself. With some practice (and your help!) I have been able to start grabbing for the better feeling thought. And the results have been amazing. I do believe in all of this and I am watching it unfold in front of me and I love it!
My gratitude journal has really helped me to create better habits. It is sometimes easy to overlook all the goodness we have when we are plaqued by stress in other areas of our lives.
