I used to be a worrier - it didn’t matter what the situation was, if there was something that could go wrong, I was right there, right on the ball, worrying about it.

So when I first discovered the law of attraction several years ago, the first crucial step was breaking this worry cycle.

Because it’s hard to reach for that better feeling thought when you’re too busy dwelling on the negative, worrying thought.

At first, it felt overwhelming. After all, what I was doing was trying to get rid of a habit of thought that had basically been with me for most of my life.

But then one day, something occurred to me that was so simple, yet so effective. It was something I had always known about worrying, but never really gave much thought to.

The thing is, worrying doesn’t solve anything. We all know that, yet we worry anyway.

So I took it one step further:

1. In any given situation, I can choose to worry.I know that this worrying that I do isn’t providing a solution to the problem. So the end result is that when I worry, not only am I not solving my problem, but I end up feeling bad, too.

2. In any given situation, I can choose to reach for the thought that makes me feel just a little bit better. So let’s say that the law of attraction is a lot of bunk, that it doesn’t work. That would mean that reaching for the better feeling thought doesn’t solve anything either. BUT the end result is that I feel better.

That was my particular eye opener, and was the thing that broke the worry cycle for me. If neither route solved my problem, but I felt bad choosing to worry, and I felt better choosing the better feeling thought, it was so obvious to me which way I should turn.

The beauty of this is that the law of attraction does work, and while you may not end up with a solution to your problem when you choose that better feeling thought, better things do begin to happen. The rest of your life may begin brightening up, or the big problem you were facing suddenly shows itself to be not quite such a huge problem.

Eventually, it gets easier and easier to reach for that better feeling thought. And your life begins to feel better and better. On the outside looking in, things may not look any different, but from the inside looking out, there’s a world of difference.

It’s a quick and easy way to break the worry cycle. The logic of it is very comforting to your logical mind. You get there by taking the law of attraction out of the equation, but the end result is that you end up boosting your confidence in LOA. And you find you’re not a worrier any longer.
