Does it feel funny to think about asking the Universe for proof that the Law of Attraction works?
You CAN ask for proof. And the Universe will deliver. The wonderful thing about asking the Universe to show you that LOA works is that it makes you more confident about how the Law of Attraction works in your life. You’ll be able to build up your belief. And what you believe - what you truly believe - is the key to manifesting what you want.
This works even if you don’t think you really believe that the Law of Attraction works. As long as you are open to the idea that Law of Attraction just might work, you’ll find that asking for proof will work.
My one caveat is that if your core belief is that LOA can never work, no matter what, you’re probably not going to see much in the way of proof. A core belief is a deep-down, basic belief, a belief that trumps all other beliefs.
You see, your core beliefs are the foundation, the basis from which you create your reality. So if you are not open at all to the idea that LOA just might work, asking for proof probably won’t work for you.
But since you’re reading this, I’ll just assume that even if you have a whole truckload of doubts, still, at the very core, you are open to the idea that LOA works.
A General Request
You can ask the Universe to show you the wonderful way LOA works, in a very general way. Just ask. You don’t need to focus on any one specific thing. You just want to see how LOA works in your life.
Once you’ve asked, you only need to do one thing. Keep your eyes and ears open. You’ll begin to see synchronicities happening all around you.
There are so many ways these synchronicities can show up. They might be big synchronicities, or they might be little synchronicities.
Maybe you’ll think about a friend you haven’t heard from for a while, and a little while later you’ll open up your email and there will be an email from that friend. Or the phone will ring, and it will be your friend calling.
You might be working on a project, and wishing for an answer to a specific question. A few minutes later, someone emails you about something totally different, but in the email, there’s a link to a resource that will give you the answer you need.
It can happen in a million different ways. So stay alert to the possibilities, and you will begin to get a feel for how all this works.
Ask for Something Specific
This is a very fun approach that works particularly well when you ask for something to which you have no attachment. For example, in asking for proof, don’t ask the Universe for something you have strong feelings or desires for. Instead, pick something about which you feel neutral.
Focusing on specific things is a great tool for manifesting those things in your life. The reason why, when you’re experimenting and asking the Universe for evidence, you don’t want to choose something that means a lot to you is because you likely have a lot of beliefs wrapped around the thing that you want - beliefs like “it’s not something that I can get” or “I don’t really deserve something like that happening to me”.
Since you’re just really looking for some nudges to help you believe in yourself and your ability to create your world, it’s best to ask for something about which you don’t carry a whole lot of beliefs.
For example, if it’s winter where you are, you might ask to see butterflies. You don’t have a whole lot vested in seeing butterflies, so you’re not likely to be carrying around beliefs that can form obstacles. Or you might be whimsical, and ask to see purple elephants.
Once you’ve asked, sit back, and be open to seeing what you’ve asked for.
If you’re open to the idea that LOA works, you’ll see signs of what you’ve asked for everywhere. Just remember, don’t be too literal. The Universe can deliver what you want in lots of ways, and it will. So if you’ve asked to see butterflies, expect them in all forms. On paper. On the sides of trucks. As a pattern on someone’s shoes. As a word in a crossword puzzle you’re doing.
Be open to seeing what you’ve asked for, and you will.
Number Alignment
My own personal request for proof was very specific. When I first started out with the Law of Attraction materials, I joined a Yahoo group called The Abe List. (It recently underwent a name change to The Abe List - when I joined the group, it was called the Abraham-Hicks discussion list, I think.)
And one thing I found absolutely fascinating was all the talk about “number alignment”. I’d never heard of number alignment before - it’s when you see numbers like 1111 or 222 or 123 popping up all over the place.
For a few months, I kept my eyes open for number alignment, to see if maybe it was happening and I just never really noticed it. After all, people on the list kept saying how easy and fun it was, the way number alignment kept popping up.
But I just couldn’t seem to get the hang of it. So finally, I thought, well, if this works, then show me! Let me experience number alignment.
And I did. I began seeing the numbers line up everywhere. If I walked into the kitchen and glanced at the clock, chances were, it would be 11:11 a.m. or maybe 3:33 p.m.. I’d open an email from a friend, and when I glanced at the “sent” time, it might read 4:44 p.m.
I’d go to the store, and the cashier would ask me for an even number, with no cents, after ringing up a ton of items. A few times, the bill came up to a total like $123.00.
I’d go driving, and the car in front of me would sport a licence plate with numbers in alignment.
The list went on.
I experience number alignment all the time now, and for me it’s become something of a touchstone. It never fails to make me smile when I walk into a room and see the time is 11:11 (this seems to be a very popular number with me, and with a lot of other people, for some reason).
So develop your own touchstones. It’s okay to ask the Universe for proof. If you believe that this just all might work, you’ll begin to see little nudges all around you. The Universe is winking at you, serving up what you’re asking for.

Great article, Belle! One of the things that helped me in the beginning was what you mentioned about not “not believing” - I didn’t have to believe, necessarily, but I had to be open to the idea of the possibility.
But I never thought of actually asking for proof. What a great idea!

Belle,
this is such synchronicity. I am part of that same wonderful list and last November (I remember because of 11/11) they started talking about the number alignment and I have been going through the same thing as you for almost a year now. 111, 222. I get up in the night and it is 1:23
I’have even come to trust that if I am on the right track with something I will see a 222 or a 123 or 456. (an ascending sequence) and also the opposite–if I am somewhat off I’ll see a descending sequence or a triple 6 (that has always been quite the number!)
I even found a website that told what the numbers were supposed to mean. Fun Stuff! and fun to know someone else is experiencing the same thing!!

Hi, Lyman,
Yes, being open to the possibility is all that you need, and that’s really quite a wonderful thing!

Hi, Karen,
I’m so glad you’re enjoying your numbers lining up every day, too. It’s something that I’ve never grown tired of - it’s like a little sparkle of daily magic, a little reminder from the U.

Hi Belle
I’m with you on the numbers with 11:11 and 11 in it’s various guises frequently appearing for me everyday, often a few seconds before chnaging to 11:12 on a digital clock almost as if it’s waiting for me before changing.
It’s obviously not just us as my post on the number 11 and other triple numbers is the most popular on my blog by far.

Hi, I love your blog. The number alignment is very interesting to me. I was never aware of it before but have been studying the LoA for almost a year now. In the last year I have noticed a lot of number alignment. It seems every time I go to the grocery store it’s $77.77 or $111.11 or $123.45. I’ve taken notice of it and now thanks to you I will smile even brighter the next time the numbers align and I remind myself it is another happy message from the Universe! Gratefully, Jenny

Nice to know that we don’t have yet another entity to impress and that it could really work for us. Your writing is beautiful.

I love the fact that everybody seems to be getting the idea of the Law of Attraction. Despite all the negative things happening in the world, there still appears to be a positive boom exploding in different parts of the universe. Regarding the number alignment, I’m not sure if this constitutes as something remarkable but to me it is. My birthday is on December 20. So that’s 12-20 right? There was actually a time when every time I would look at my mobile phone, it would read 12:20. It’s not something I do on purpose and it’s not always during lunch either. It’s a small thing, I know. But it makes me smile.

Hi Belle
I decided to check out your website when I saw that it was also listed on Priscilla Palmer’s Personal Development List. And am I really glad I did. In addition, I’ve also subscribed to your newsletter. So far, I’m really liking what I see.
This is an extremely wonderful post. I am a great advocate of LOA but as you mention in your post, there may be those who do not believe in it as they already have it rooted in their core beliefs that LOA does not. This type of beliefs are what I would call limiting beliefs.
I know I’m side tracking a little here but I sincerely feel that it is prudent that anyone clears their limiting beliefs first before trying out any new system, in this case, LOA. And there are numerous methods to do so such as EFT and Sedona. And along the way, when you are stil doubtful, you can utilise these methods to clear those doubts.
Once you have cleared those limiting beliefs, it’ll be so much more easier to accept LOA and you’ll soon see that you can manifest your specific core desires.
And speaking of number alignment, I too have had instances where recurring numbers appear without my planning such as the number 77 and 555. Well, that’s just my personal experience but the feeling was really great.
Once again, great post, Belle. I’ll definitely be checking out your website more often so I sincerely hope you’ll keep the posts coming.
Best Regards
Shafi’e

Hi everyone,
Funnily enough I’m number 11 in the post. I’m not surprised, I see it all the time, even before I knew about LOA. Still, I think there is more to it, it’s a sign for something, I’m sure. Can it be that you’re in allignment every time u see these things? ‘cuz now that I realize, I’ve never seen number 11 or 22 or 44 when I’m in a bad mood… and the point of allignment is to feel good right? tho, is there a timeline between alignment and manifestation? I’d really like to know.

Hi all,
Wow this blows my mind and I am smiling from ear to ear right now. This “number alignment” has been happening to me for a number of years now and I have always been amazed by it. I knew it meant something but havent worked it out yet. Then tonight, it’s 9:26 pm here I go onto the internet to learn something and type in abundance, end up here and wow. Just shows when the pupil is ready the teacher will appear…….
